About this CD-Rom
Introduction
This product provides a benthic habitat classification manual and geospatial data of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands for the coastal resource management community.

Top of pageISO Disc Image
Some CD burning programs can copy the contents of a CD-ROM to an image file and re-create the CD from that image file. These files are called ISO disc image files. There are many ISO standards. In this case we're talking about the ISO 9660 format used by almost all CD-ROMs of Windows, Mac, Unix, and so on. It is sometimes called the High Sierra format. You can create your own copy of the CD-ROM version of this product by downloading the ISO disc image link below. The disc image file has been zipped and is approximately 440MB, so may take a long time to download, depending on your internet connection speed.
Once you have downloaded the zip file, extract the disc image, open your CD burning software and look for an option to "Create CD from CD Image...". Select the ISO disc image file that you just downloaded, insert a blank CD, and then start the burning process. Depending on your software set-up you may be able to simply double-click on the ISO disc image and it will launch your CD burning software.

For those users with ArcView GIS software installed on their computers, there are ArcView shapefiles included with this product. In order for the user to view the aerial photo mosaics (MrSID files), the user needs ArcView 3.1® or higher and the "MrSID Image Support" Extension turned on.

The Classification Manual is offered in portable document format (PDF) and is located in Project Methods. Adobe Acrobat Reader is free software that allows you to view, navigate within, and print PDF files across major computing platforms. The PDF document in this product is best viewed using Adobe® Acrobat Reader® version 4.0 or higher. A copy of version 5.0, the Microsoft® Windows® compatible software is included.
