The four main products of this assessment are listed below. In addition, the pull-down sections of this web page called “Analyses/Maps”, “Integration” and “Data” for this project contain hundreds of individual maps (PDF and GIS) and information tables (e.g., Excel) that went into the GIS assessments and reports.

PHASE I PRODUCTS

Cover of California folio reportA Biogeographic Assessment off North/Central California: To Support the Joint Management Plan Review for Cordell Bank, Gulf of the Farallones, and the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuaries: Phase 1 - Marine Fishes, Birds and Mammals, a folio report summarizing the entire assessment. Contains a summary of all major product components and details on methods, results, and discussion. The report, CD, website below are companion products.

  2. Cover of Ecological Linkages ReportEcological Linkages: Marine and Estuarine Ecosystems of Central and Northern California, a literature-based report describing the biological and physical habitat resources of the ocean and estuaries in the study area.

    The Ecological Linkages Report provides a written complement to the spatial analyses conducted for the biogeographic assessment by providing an overview of the physical and biological characteristics of the study region. Key ecosystems and species occurring in estuarine and marine waters are highlighted and linkages between them discussed. Additionally, this report describes both biogeographic patterns and processes, thus setting the scene for the overall assessment.

PHASE II PRODUCTS

  1. A Biogeographic Assessment off North/Central California: To Support the Joint Management Plan Review for Cordell Bank, Gulf of the Farallones, and the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuaries: Phase II - Environmental Setting and Update to Marine Birds and Mammals. Contains new and updated information on selected environmental settings, and marine bird and mammals off north/central California, with hundreds of distribution maps, tables and descriptive text and details on methods, data, results, and discussion. The report is available for download and selected data will soon be available via download from the site (March 2008).
